Javed Akhtar Moves Bombay HC Claiming Kangana Ranaut Gave Misleading Statements To Get Favourable Order; Actor Reacts
The cold war between lyricist Javed Akhtar and actor Kangana Ranaut has been grabbing headlines since 2020. So much so that, even the court got involved in their ugly spat. Now, the latest update on their rift suggests that Javed has moved the Bombay High Court as he claimed that Ranaut is giving misleading statements before the court to get favourable orders for her passport renewal process. For the unversed, earlier, her passport was not renewed because of the FIRs filed against her. However, her lawyer claimed there was no criminal case arising out of it.

Zee News carried Akhtar's application who said, “In spite of knowledge of the criminal case (Akhtar's complaint) pending before the magistrate's court, Andheri, the petitioner no 1 (Ranaut) deliberately failed to disclose the same...With an intention to mislead and obtain a favourable order". After coming across a report, claiming the same, Kangana took to her Instagram stories and decided to address the allegations that were levelled against her. One of the stories read, “Dekho kitni jali ankil ki”

While sharing another news report stating her passport didn't get renewed not because of the pending criminal case, she wrote, “Movie mafia ankil yeh article pad aur thand rakh tereko movie ke premier pe bulaungi” Meanwhile, Akhtar filed a defamation case against Kangana after she made several defamatory statements in her July 2020 interview where she alleged that Javed runs a ‘suicide gang’ in Bollywood.

On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in Thalaivi, Dhaakad and Tejas. She recently announced that she will also be essaying the role of former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi in her upcoming film, Emergency. ALSO READ: Kangana Ranaut Seeks Permanent Exemption From Court In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case; Actor To Appear Through Her Advocate — Reports
